People and team

People, team, and the difference between them

Who gets credited for work, who gets a login, and why those are two different lists.

Premo keeps two separate lists, and mixing them up is the most common thing to get wrong when setting up.

People are everyone whose work you credit. The crew. They do not need a login, an email address, or any involvement with the dashboard at all. They exist so a review can be attributed to whoever actually did the job.

Team are people with a login to your dashboard. They have a role, they see your data, and they can change things depending on what that role allows.

Most of your crew are People and not Team. Somebody can be both.

Adding people

Only a name is required. Everything else — a payroll number or staff id, the date they joined, which branch they work from — is optional and there because some businesses need it.

Add the crew before the first card goes out. A review that arrives before its person exists cannot be credited retrospectively with any confidence.

Cards belong to people

Assigning a card to a person is what turns a single company score into per-person scores. If somebody leaves, reassign their card rather than letting the next person carry it — otherwise new reviews are filed under whoever left.

Archiving somebody who leaves

Archive them rather than deleting. Their past work stays credited to them, which is the honest record, and they drop out of the lists you work with day to day. Archived people are hidden by default and can be shown again.

Archiving is separate from anything recorded against them, and it does not touch reviews already collected.

Inviting somebody to the dashboard

Invite them from Team. An invite link works for seven days; after that it needs sending again.

Give the narrowest role that lets somebody do their job. A manager scoped to one branch sees that branch's people, which is usually what you want and is much easier than explaining later why somebody saw a figure they should not have.
